They also placed posters around the school. A number of students participated here. Our school is also promoting and reinforcing the idea of making sure all lights and equipment is turned off whenever not in use. This is a good beginning. Additionally,and as an aside, the school here is moving toward the use of no plastic in the cafeteria-- that includes water bottles. Students will be encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles. I spent the time without power working on my battery operated computer? I'm thinking this could be a weekly electricity "fast". Maybe fasting for the modern age could include not only food, but electricity! The frantically tried to finish what they were doing, but were completely cooperative when the lights began to dim. Even the guy who asked to photocopy something after the power had gone out "got it" when I looked at him blankly. We have so much natural light in here that I kept half the lights off all day. Thanks for initiating Earth Hour here.
